UConn head basketball coach Dan Hurley appeared to threaten a fan after Tuesday’s road loss to Creighton. The 51-year-old received a police escort off into the locker room as the students stormed the court in Omaha and was involved in a verbal altercation.

Hurley went back-and-forth with someone in the crowd. It looked as though a man wearing a black hat backwards was on the other end of the heated exchange.

Regardless of who it was, Hurley pointed right in his/her direction and seemingly said that he would knock him out. He was irate but chose to leave it at that— “I will knock you out!”

Here is a video of the spat:

The Huskies were blown out by the Blue Jays. They got out to a hot start but went into the locker room down by 14 at halftime. Creighton couldn’t miss and held off a second-half push by the nation’s top-ranked team to win by 19.

It was the program’s first-ever win over a No. 1 team and it made for incredible scenes.

Believe it or not, UConn has not won a ranked road game since 2014. The Huskies have suffered 19-straight road losses to a ranked opponent, including the Blue Jays.

Dan Hurley, one of the most explosive personalities in college basketball, was furious. Understandably so.

He is not one to hold back his emotions and let loose on a fan as he made his way off the court. It remains unclear as to what set him off, but the officers that were in charge of his exit were very clearly on edge after one particular chirp from the crowd. That cannot be heard in the video.

Hurley may or may not receive a fine or reprimand from the Big East for his behavior. The league may choose to let it slide, because it wasn’t that big of a deal. It may also try to make a statement by disciplining one of its most polarizing characters. Likely/hopefully not!
