Dan Hurley sarcastically jabbed at college basketball hypocrisy Sunday afternoon surrounding his sideline temper tantrums following a contentious exit from the NCAA Tournament.
The UConn head coach threw subtle shade on social media after the Final Four. He continued to play the villain even with his team watching the national championship race from home.
Sideline reporter John Fanta posted a message on X after watching Florida and Auburn duke it out on Saturday night. He noticed that neither side appeared all that happy with officiating throughout the contest.
Both coaches have shared a lot of words with the officials in this game that are not safe for television.

There were calls against each side that impacted the end of the contest. Florida came out victorious, 79-73, to complete a comeback after digging out of a nine-point second half deficit.
No one is suggesting the officiating cost the Tigers the game. Poor second half shooting and late turnovers ultimately did them in.
Still, each coaching staff made sure to let the crew hear their displeasure when they believed the wrong call was made. And both sides had legitimate beefs at one point or another.

Fanta noted that Bruce Pearl and Todd Golden used profanity when voicing their unhappiness to officials. It’s something Dan Hurley’s been doing all year!
The UConn coach went viral at the beginning of the season for berating referees after losses. The behavior continued up through his final game of the year.
After losing to the Gators in the NCAA Tournament, Hurley was heard criticizing officiating while walking to the locker room. “I hope they don’t f— you like they f— us,” he shouted to a Baylor team that was getting ready to take the floor.
The interaction, which ballooned into a much bigger storyline due to a Huskies administrator’s response, went viral online. Hurley was confused why Pearl and Golden weren’t getting the same negative attention.

Dan Hurley called out the media’s hypocrisy. He believes he’s put under a different microscope as it relates to sideline outbursts, and he’s probably right!
That narrative likely won’t change moving forward given his repeat offenses. And his team’s recent success certainly doesn’t win him over many fans of opposing schools either. That didn’t stop him from pointing out that coaches all over the country use foul language to get their points across to referees. He’s not the only person berating officials.
