Dan Hurley’s wife, Andrea, went viral for her off-court actions during UCONN’s national championship run. She made some unsavory comments about a Big East rival during the Final Four.

The school that the head coach’s significant other targeted was Providence, a place that’s been in close proximity to the Hurleys throughout Dan’s career.

Dan Hurley led the Huskies to their fifth national title since 1999 on Monday, taking down the San Diego State Aztecs in the championship game. The dominant tournament run included six straight double digit wins as Connecticut made light work of opponents like Gonzaga and Arkansas.

It was a theme that continued from UCONN’s regular season as the Huskies went a perfect 17-0 in out-of-conference play.

But while the team was excelling on the court, Dan Hurley’s wife was taking shots at a team whose season was already over. She appeared on the Field of 68 podcast to talk about her experience on the incredible UCONN run. At one point in the interview, she took vicious aim at the Providence Friars.

When discussing Connecticut fans who don’t believe in what her husband’s building in Storrs, Andrea says, “They can go up the road to Providence. I think they needed more a–holes because they have tons of them… They’re a bunch of jerk—s.”

Shots fired.

Providence has been in close proximity to Dan Hurley, and his wife, throughout his head coaching career. He now faces the Friars annually in the Big East.

Before landing the gig at UCONN, Hurley was at the helm for instate foe Rhode Island.

The Huskies are riding high after winning the national championship, but I’m guessing Providence fans will remember these comments come next year.
