The Washington Commanders honored several former players before the Green Bay Packers game. It was supposed to be a cool moment for the entire franchise, despite Chris Cooley not attending. Everything seemed to be going fine, that is, until Tanya Snyder, Dan Snyder’s wife totally blundered the ending.
Tanya Snyder Calls Commanders By Their Old Name And It has Everyone Pissed
According to Sam Fortier, Tanya Snyder didn’t call Washington the Commanders in the final statements honoring the former legendary players. She said, “Hail to the Redskins” instead, and it’s got everyone talking.
Here’s the end of the video of Tanya Snyder, which includes her “Hail to the Redskins” (:20). https://t.co/XpIqKP9z3T pic.twitter.com/H5tSIWht6V

This isn’t a great look for a franchise where the fans are openly asking for Dan Snyder to sell the team. Sure, they went by their former name for decades. However, it’s been well over two years since the name change. You’d think one of the people in charge of the whole operation would know better. Besides, it’s a racist name and it’s time to put it in the past where it belongs.
She’s proving to be as tone deaf as her husband. Only difference is she actually speaks publicly https://t.co/Lw7MoWoGwE

It really is a terrible look for the Commanders.
Tanya Snyder is now and has always been complicit with all of Dan's racist, sexist, fully and totally fucked bullshit. Sell the goddamn team you toxic cesspool of boiling putrid garbage https://t.co/EwDoEKQxAo

We’re not entirely sure how it keeps happening either.
I’ll see that they have botched something and always think “How can they one up themselves.” The owner not knowing the team name is a new low point… https://t.co/fRQ9x2EUdH

A really tough look for Dan and Tanya Snyder.
“Why don’t you give us credit for all the progress we’ve made in the last two years?”
This organization, man… https://t.co/Yen8UdQkYD

Hopefully, the team is sold sooner, rather than later. That way we don’t have to keep hearing the current owners talk anymore.
