Over the weekend, Rory McIlroy took home an impressive chunk of cash when he finished up the 2019 PGA season with an impressive four-stroke win at the Tour Championship for the rights to raise the FedEx Cup.
After McIlroy secured the title, Darren Rovell took the opportunity to give us an update on the golfer’s career winnings and informed us he’s only one of four players in history to earn more than $80 million on the links.
$83.8 million: Rory McIlroy’s updated career earnings after he wins the Tour Championship & the FedEx Cup. The $15 million prize makes him only the 4th golfer to earn more than $80M on the course (counting FedEx $), joining Vijay Singh, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

On Tuesday morning, the man who may be the nerdiest nerd to ever nerd decided to post another McIlroy-related tweet, only this one had virtually nothing to do with sports business or betting and everything to do with…nipples?
Surprised how few people mentioned Rory McIlroy’s nipples this weekend. pic.twitter.com/rQNS0ey5Gr

If you can’t watch the video (or don’t want to see Rovell blast his nips underneath the Nike shirt he donned to highlight the issue), here’s some of what he had to say about a topic literally nobody asked him to address:
“It was impossible not to look at his nipples.
I’ve mentioned this with Tiger Woods. Back in the day, there was a lot of “nippling” in his shirts….
I put on shirts and I see that my nipples are showing and I don’t like that and I don’t think anyone does.
I don’t know anyone who’s in the clothing industry. Maybe you can help me. Is there something you can do with some sort of padding to alleviate this problem? Because it’s embarrassing for Rory, I think it’s embarrassing for Nike…
I think it is a significant issue. Nike does not want to have one of their top spokesmen who’s on the air for seven hours on Sunday in the biggest event moneywise to have his nipples showing.
I think something has to be done.”
When I first came across the video, it had a grand total of three retweets and 76 responses and The Ratio has only increased since then as people have predictably asked Rovell “Oh no baby, what is you doing?” in various ways.
You should be charged criminally for making somebody film this and pretend like it was a good idea 😂

If you need me, I’ll be spending the rest of my day washing my eyes out with bleach.
