Steve Sarkisian, Lane Kiffin Reunite To Watch 340-Pound (!!) 18-Year-Old Football Recruit

DeAndre Carter Texas Auburn Recruiting Mater Dei

Mater Dei High School offensive lineman DeAndre Carter is committed to Auburn, but there is a growing buzz that he could flip to Texas. Regardless of whether he plays for the Tigers or Longhorns, the California-native provides an instant boost to the hog mollies at either program.

Carter is a big dude mammoth human being.

As a four-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2024, there are just a few months left before the Monarch’s large left tackle must make a final decision. He has 28 scholarship offers, including Alabama, LSU, Nebraska, USC, Florida State and Colorado, but it is coming down to two SEC programs.

Carter committed to Auburn back in September. However, Steve Sarkisian was able to land his offensive line counterpart Brandon Baker (the top ranked tackle in the country) last month and is keeping his foot on the gas.

Texas’ third-year head coach was in attendance for Friday’s game between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco. The top-ten high school football matchup featured 76 (!!) players with an FBS offer. The Longhorns were on a bye week. It made perfect sense to swing by.

Ole Miss was on a bye week as well so Lane Kiffin was also at the game with his son, Knox. It made for a coincidental reunion of former co-offensive coordinators AND former head coaches at USC.

They are still friends to this day but they were there for different reasons. Carter was Sarkisian’s focus.

DeAndre Carter is huge.

Considered to be the third-best interior offensive line recruit in the country, Carter stands 6-foot-4, 340 pounds. He is a senior in high school.

Carter looks even bigger when wearing a Texas uniform while standing next to offensive line coach Kyle Flood.

The same can be said about Auburn and Hugh Freeze.

Carter only turned 18 years old on Sept. 17. He is less than one month into his 19th year of life.

And yet, Carter is already heavier than 15 of the 20 offensive lineman on Texas’ roster and 18 of the 18 offensive lineman on Auburn’s roster. Goodness gracious.

What are they feeding these kids in Santa Ana?!
