The last year was an absolute disaster for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Urban Meyer’s tenure was so bad that fans showed up to the last game of the season dressed as clowns. Based on today’s news, it would appear the fans continue to be right about the clownhood of the Jaguars’ front office.
The Jaguars have been on the hunt for a new head coach since the firing of Urban Meyer. Unfortunately, it hasn’t gone well. They’ve been turned down for interviews. They’ve struggled to secure top candidates as team after team has filled their vacancies.
Obviously, the Jaguars’ job isn’t exactly the greatest opportunity. Their team is devoid of talent. The franchise has a history of being poorly run. Event he surest bet the organization has had in years, Trevor Lawrence, didn’t quite pan out in his rookie year.
Still, there had to be somebody out there who would want the job. One of the top candidates in this year’s coaching pool just happened to be their former starting quarterback. Surely the Jaguars couldn’t mess that up, right?
Well, it turns out they did with one decision that it seemed everybody but the Jaguars knew was a mistake. They kept Trent Baalke as their GM. It was rumored that a number of candidates wouldn’t want to work for Baalke and now it seems that we can add Byron Leftwich to that list.
Amazing at Senior Bowl the chatter is Byron Leftwich made a mistake that he made it known that he couldn't work with Trent Baalke when the question was presented to him. He suggested the Jaguars should hire his guy Adrian Wilson as GM.

Leftwich was the best candidate the Jacksonville Jaguarss were ever going to have a chance to land this offseason and they likely only even had a shot at him because of his past with the team. Now, their decision to keep a GM who has repeatedly produced failing rosters has cost them their best option.
It looks like Shad Khan and the Jags might be forced to fire Baalke soon otherwise they’re going to have a tough time finding a suitable head coach.
