Apparently, the Pac-12 was going to have a Week 0 matchup for Deion Sanders’ debut with Colorado. However, that might not be in the works now.

It sounds like Sanders may have spilled the beans a bit too early and the conference is reportedly making a change.

According to 247 Sports, Deion Sanders told Kirk Herbstreit that Colorado was going to take on Arizona State in Week 0 to kick off the season. As you’d expect, Herbstreit reported it for all to hear. “[Sanders] was on GameDay with us and he actually gave us some news … breaking news, from Prime. They’re actually not going to be opening up with TCU. Colorado’s going to open up with Arizona State in their first game, and then they’re going to play TCU in their second game. Looks like they’re sneaking around there a little bit, but that was just told to me from Coach Prime tonight.”

Turns out, the Pac-12 might not be too happy this information was released to the public. It appears Colorado’s possible Week 0 game against Arizona State “has been nixed after Deion Sanders leaked it to Kirk Herbstreit on ESPN,” per Brandon Marcello.

It sure sounds like the Pac-12 wanted to keep that one a surprise. It’d probably be a fun matchup to kick off the 2023 season. Regardless, Deion Sanders might have just ruined it for everybody.

Maybe the Pac-12 will change its mind down the road. We’ll see how it plays out though. Keep an eye on this situation for now.
