The Denver Broncos were one of the most-watched teams in the lead-up to the 2024 NFL Draft.  They had the 12th overall pick, and everyone knew there was a chance they took a quarterback with that pick.

They did just that, as they ended up selecting Oregon’s Bo Nix with the 12th overall pick. That’s a selection that has been panned by many around the NFL.

That’s old news, though, as the draft was nearly two weeks ago. But, it was revealed on Monday that the Denver Broncos were ultra-secretive about their draft board at quarterback for the 2024 NFL Draft.

A lot of NFL teams are paranoid about information leaking out when it comes to their annual draft boards. Who can blame them? The NFL Draft is pretty high-stakes and information is currency. But, this seems a little overboard, right?

Ultimately, what matters now is the development of Bo Nix and if head coach Sean Payton can turn into a franchise quarterback when many didn’t even have him as a first-round prospect.

Sean Payton claims that he has the same amount of confidence in Bo Nix as he had in Patrick Mahomes when he tried to draft him as coach of the New Orleans Saints.

The Broncos better hope that Bo Nix turns out to be great. The franchise has been in a real rut since Peyton Manning retired following the 2015 season. Right now, the roster is pretty bad, all things considered. If Bo Nix doesn’t pan out, the franchise won’t have much else to build on.
