Heavyweight boxing superstar Deontay Wilder is one of the most entertaining fighters on the planet.

As if former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who has hinted at potential boxing match in his future.

So why not throw them in a ring together and see who walks out, right?

At least, that’s what Wilder is hinting at.

Ngannou, who recently signed a groundbreaking deal with the PFL, has not fought since January of 2022. He’s expected to make his PFL debut sometime in late 2023 or early 2024. But he’s also teased the idea of a fight with another boxing superstar, Tyson Fury.

Fury is 2-0 against Wilder and won both fights via stoppage, though Wilder did knock Fury down in their first matchup.

Ngannou hasn’t announced his next opponents, but Wilder believes he could be an option should his planned fight with fellow former champ Anthony Joshua fall through.

“At that specific date [in December], I’m not sure, but all things and anything are possible,” Wilder told MMA Fighting. “Me and Francis have had discussions, we had meetings with both parties, as far as the team is concerned. So this is a real conversation that has been taking place, not only just amongst the combat…family, but amongst the teams as well, getting on the phone, everybody talking.

“…This is something that can truly happen to him. So the best is yet to come overall. There’s so many things that I could say, so many things that I can try to put in words to say, but at the end of the day, we’ll see what happens when it happens. That’s the best way I can [say it] to give people a peace of mind. These things are in discussion, but we’ll see what happens and when it happens, it’s gonna be amazing.”

Wilder then taunted Ngannou a bit, even hinting at potential MMA bout between the two.

“Hey Francis, you listening?” Wilder said with a smile. “We discussed this before, and we’ve got many space and opportunity to discuss once more. I’m looking for a two-fight [deal] crossing over.”

Fans were all about the potential heavyweight showdown.
