Since opting to not re-sign with the UFC, fight fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for Francis Ngannou’s next move.

All eyes are on a potential matchup against Tyson Fury, in what would be a spectacle of an event. However, it sounds like Ngannou has a date in mind for a boxing match.

According to MMA Fighting, Francis Ngannou is aiming for a boxing match in the summer. Ideally, he wants to face Tyson Fury in June or July. Mainly because Fury is set to take on Oleksandr Usyk in April. So, it sounds like Ngannou is willing to be patient to make a massive payday.

Until then, Francis Ngannou must sign some sort of contract. Some ponder if he’ll sign a similar contract Jake Paul recently signed. If that’s the case, then we could watch him take on Tyson Fury on an ESPN pay-per-view.

In the end, fight fans aren’t sure how this fight would even go. A boxing match makes Tyson Fury the heavy favorite. However, Ngannou has the power to knock out anybody. That threat would be alive as long as he’s standing in the ring.

Additionally, it’s not clear what the parameters are for this matchup. Fury teased a wildly bizarre contest with weird rules. If anything does come to fruition though, we should expect to see him and Francis Ngannou box in a ring with regular rules. This potential fight is going to reel in the dough and there is no need for crazy rules.

Look for a possible fight announcement to come to light in the coming months.
