Derek Jeter, A-Rod, And Big Papi Completely Lose It When A Mentalist Reads Their Minds

mentalist reads derek jeter and alex rodriguez's minds

FOX Sports / MLB on FOX

The MLB Playoffs are well underway with the Rangers and Phillies jumping out to 1-game leads in the ALCS and NLCS respectively after both teams took advantage of early leads. But the real magic was happening in the studio amongst the MLB on FOX analysts Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and David Ortiz who had their minds read by a mentalist.

I’m a sucker for magic. Always have been. And I have written about mentalism, magic, and magicians here at BroBible countless times over the past decade. Even still, each time I see a master mentalist or magician like the one below it blows my mind and I find myself coming here to share these incredible videos with you readers.

Derek Jeter, A-Rod, And Big Papi’s Minds Blown By A Mentalist

This video only has 6K views on YouTube and we’re about to change that. It has just now started going viral on TikTok but if you’re seeing this video of Derek Jeter having his mind blown by a mentalist consider yourself in on the ground floor of virality. But this video’s about to explode and you’ll soon see why.

Going through the three MLB legends, mentalist RMax Goodwin starts with Alex Rodriguez. He begins by asking him to think of a number between 1 to 100. Then he tells Alex to think of a new number that isn’t ‘easy to guess’ like his jersey number. The number was ’32’ for Magic Johnson and boom, the mentalist turned his paper around and got it.

Derek Jeter is up next. He says “I want to make this personal” and asks Jeter to think of his childhood hero and not say it out loud. A ‘home town slugger’ or a ‘batting coach’ and the guy says there’s no way anyone would know who it is. He then says ‘this is long, this is hard’ before flipping the board around and showing Derek Jeter his grandfather’s name.

It is at this point that Derek Jeter is confident this mentalist is a sorcerer. Derek Jeter’s spideysense for sorcery is ringing in his ears and you can tell he’s no longer comfortable in the presence of such a powerful mentalist.

Up last is David Ortiz aka Big Papi aka one of the greatest Red Sox players in the history of the franchise. The mentalist asks Big Papi who his first crush was.

Ortiz was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and was there through high school. He was signed by the Mariners just before his 17th birthday. There is absolutely no way this mentalist would be able to do background research on who Big Papi’s first crush was by pouring through old interviews or whatever. No way possible.

So while I think I’ve got a pretty good handle on how mentalist RMax Goodwin read the minds of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, I’m completely and utterly stumped on how he pulled this name out of Big Papi’s mind. Any and all guesses on how he read Ortiz’s mind are welcome in the Facebook comments.

Mentalist RMax Goodwin, the man in the video above, can be found at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles and on his website.

A true master of his craft.
