Trash talk from fans directed from fans to players and coaches during NFL games isn’t exactly a new phenomenon. But, sometimes, it goes too far, which is what happened during last week’s Thursday Night Football game between the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills.
Now, the fan responsible for a verbal altercation with Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur last week in Detroit has been given a severe punishment by the Detroit Lions.
Here’s the incident involving Lions fan and season ticket holder Fahad Yousif and Matt LaFleur. Take a look.

Obviously, that’s something you can’t do as a fan. He gets the honor of going on the field before the game to help hold the flag for the National Anthem, and totally blows it. That’s behavior that just can’t happen.
Now, he’s been stripped of his prized Lions season tickets. Here’s Pro Football Talk with more.
The Lions have revoked the season tickets of the fan who had a heated verbal altercation with Packers head coach Matt LaFleur during last Thursday’s game between the teams.
Fahad Yousif told the Detroit News that the Lions informed him of the decision via an email. Yousif was on the field before the game to hold part of on oversized flag during the national anthem and had to be separated from LaFleur, who said Yousef “was talking junk to our players, giving them the throat slash sign.”
“The biggest gut punch, man,” Yousif said. “Just waking up and seeing that email and not being able to talk to somebody in person, it was a terrible feeling. I don’t have my chance to give my side of the story or anything.”
It’s unclear if he will be able to purchase season tickets again next year, or if this is a longer or lifetime ban of sorts.
