The Brooklyn Nets have had a whirlwind of a week. Not only is the organization dealing with antisemitic comments by star guard Kyrie Irving, but it also began the week by firing head coach Steve Nash.

Brooklyn removed Nash after a 2-5 start to the season. He finishes his run with the team with a 94-67 record. But ultimately, it’s two early playoff exits and the absolute calamity around the organization that will be remembered.

Many felt Nash was a scapegoat for every other problem that the Nets and general manager Sean Mark failed to address. One of the people who seems to believe that is legendary ESPN college basketball broadcaster Dick Vitale. Vitale took to Twitter on Thursday to share his displeasure.

But he made one small mistake that has basketball fans hooting and hollering.

Dick Vitale Accidentally Mistakes Pro Wrestler Kevin Nash For Fired Nets Coach Steve Nash

Vitale made his feelings known about Irving and the Nets handling of his antisemitic comments in a tweet late on Wednesday night. He felt bad that Nash had to deal with both Irving and Ben Simmons. But rather than tag Nash in the tweet, Dickie V accidentally tagged a much different, much larger athlete.

Vitale mistakenly tagged former pro wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash. Now, to his credit, the 6-foot-10 Nash did play college basketball at Tennessee for three seasons. He even helped the team to the Sweet 16!

But Big Daddy Cool is far more notable for his role in founding the famous NWO faction than he is for his work on the court.

Fans thought the mistake by Vitale was absolutely hilarious and immediately came with the jokes.

Suddenly I can’t stop laughing at the idea of Dick Vitale calling late-90s WCW matches with Nash, Scott Hall and the rest of the NWO.
