Diego Pavia did not make an NFL roster for 2026. It appears as though he plans to be a streamer on Twitch.

The reigning Heisman Trophy runner-up went live on Twitch during his return to New Mexico State last weekend.

Even if a career in the National Football League is no longer an option, Pavia made enough money in college to live comfortably for the rest of his life if it was invested correctly. That gives him some flexibility in how to proceed.

Diego Pavia did not make an NFL roster.

Very few players in recent college football history are as controversial as Diego Pavia, for a lack of better word. He burst onto the scene at New Mexico State in 2023 and led the Aggies to their first 10-win season in school history with an upset win at Auburn.

However, Pavia was caught urinating on a rival’s logo in a video that ruffled some feathers. And that was only the beginning.

Pavia transferred to Vanderbilt in 2024 and won seven games with a huge upset victory over Alabama. Even the casual fans started taking note of the loud-mouthed quarterback in Nashville. Some people loved his lack of filter. Others clutched their pearls.

Fast forward to the offseason. Pavia became the first player of note to force his way back onto the field for another season of eligibility through the courts, which did not go over well with the purists. Although the Commodores won 10 games in 2025, their signal-caller drew criticism for his behavior. His brothers were arrested at the season-opener, he shot his shot at Tate McRae while partying with Johnny Manziel in Miami on the bye week, and then there was the whole thing with Theo Von and his mom.

That only begins to scratch the surface. Pavia really pissed people off by wearing earbuds at the Heisman Trophy ceremony and by trashing the voters and Fernando Mendoza after he lost. To make matters worse, he smashed an iPhone at the bar on the night before the Senior Bowl and threw cash at an exotic dancer in New Mexico right before the NFL Draft.

Love him or hate him… you watched! He was great for the sport.

Diego Pavia ultimately went undrafted and signed with the Baltimore Ravens. He was waived on July 23 and did not sign with another professional organization. It is unclear as to whether he wants to make a comeback. It doesn’t seem likely.

His quest for a wife begins on Twitch as a streamer.

With no active NFL roster spot, Diego Pavia has shifted away from football for the time being. I am sure he would be ready if called upon but I am not so sure he is going to get the call. Maybe the 24-year-old decides to play in the CFL or one of the spring leagues in the future. I won’t rule it out.

In the meantime, Pavia made a career pivot into online content creation and IRL streaming on Twitch.

His latest stream saw him return to New Mexico State for its rivalry game against New Mexico last weekend. He was live for more than four and a half hours before, during and after kickoff.

The most viral clip happened at the tailgate when Pavia encountered a blonde woman and her daughter who wanted to say hi.

The video, which was clipped and viewed more than two million times on X, was most people’s first introduction into the Heisman Trophy runner-up’s new career. Reactions were mostly negative but Pavia does not care about what people think. He was glad to give his friend, Fluff, a chance to seal the deal as a true team player. His wife is out there somewhere but they weren’t the ones!

“i’m trynna find my wife here soon.. but game recognize game & fluff got it 💯”

Pavia has not posted on Instagram or TikTok in a few months. You can keep up with his whereabouts (and quest for a wife) on Twitch.
