DK Metcalf posted a random person on his Instagram to mock him
It’s not hard to be nice to people or to mind your own business. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf evidently has issues with both.
The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver is facing backlash after he posted an Instagram story photographing an elderly grocery store worker stocking meat and captioning it “The build.” and “God: mhm imma make a 2 waist build.” — mocking the man’s body to his millions of followers without the man’s knowledge or consent.

The post has generated significant on social media given how in poor taste it is for Metcalf — a 6’4″ 235-pound professional athlete with one of the most exceptional physical builds in the NFL — to publicly mock an elderly man doing his job at a grocery store to his 1.7 million followers.
Metcalf is in his second year with the Steelers after departing from the Seattle Seahawks and is currently in training camp with Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the squad. Last season, his first with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was his worse as an NFL player, as the two-time Pro Bowler had 59 catches (the second lowest of his career) for 850 yards (a career low) and six receiving touchdowns.
Despite winning the division last season, sportsbooks have the Steelers as the third-shortest betting favorites to win the AFC North behind the favored Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.
The Steelers — in their first season under Mike McCarthy following the departure of longtime head coach Mike Tomlin — will open their 2026 season with a at home on Sunday, September 13 with a 1 p.m. EST matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
