The 2024 NFL Draft is now exactly two months away, and the NFL Combine starts Monday. Draft talk is starting to heat up, and will only intensify in the next few weeks.

One of the big subjects of draft talk is North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye. The true junior elected to enter the NFL Draft after two stellar seasons as the starter in Chapel Hill.

While many believe that USC quarterback and recruiting class of 2021 classmate Caleb Williams is the likely number-one pick, Drake Maye is absolutely still in consideration. It seems that, at worst, he will go no lower than third-overall to the New England Patriots. The Chicago Bears pick first and the Washington Commanders pick second.

Maye, at 6-foot-4 and 230lb, has prototypical size for an NFL starting quarterback. He’s got a huge arm, impressive mobility, and good intelligence too. He comes from a family of high-profile UNC athletes. His dad Mark played basketball for the Tar Heels from 1983-1987. And, his brother Luke hit the shot that sent UNC to the Final Four in 2017 (they would later win the title), and was an All-American in 2019.

But, Drake Maye is the best out all of them. Just how good is he? Take a look at this throw that’s going viral on social media.

Drake Maye is at his own 32-yard-line when he lets it go, and clanks the crossbar nearly 80 yards away! That is insane.

Does this mean a whole lot in terms of his ability? No, probably not. But, it’s still cool to see someone with that much raw ability.
