Draymond Green Describes The Moment He Found Out Kevin Durant Was Bailing By Comparing It To Impregnating His Fiancée

Draymond Green is having a better summer than both of us. The three-time All Star signed a $100 million extension with the Warriors this offseason that will see to it that Draymond remains in San Fransisco through the 2023-2024 season. On top of that, the dude’s been partying onstage at a Drake concert in Toronto and beating up on commoners in pickup games while at DeMarcus Cousins’ bachelor party in the Bahamas.

The former Defensive Player of the Year sat down with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols to discuss all things basketball, but most notably, the departure of Kevin Durant, who jetted to the Brooklyn Nets on a four-year, $164 million tip.

Draymond was asked his opinion on KD, who he hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye with, leaving to team up with Kyrie Irving and cement his legacy in Brooklyn. His answer was as funny as it was weird.

“This is our lives. I’m not about to go to Kevin Durant and go ‘Hey kevin can I get my fiancee pregnant?’ But that’s my life. It’s my life. Am I supposed to come to you and a) let you know that’s what I want to do or b) ask you for permission? No. And so I found out when everybody else found out, which is exactly as it should be.”

Draymond and the Warriors are now the underdogs, with Odd Shark predicting two other teams from their own state to win the NBA Finals over them. The Warriors are currently +1400, the seventh best odds in the NBA, behind the Utah Jazz (+1200).

Something tells me that’s right where Draymond wants to be.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
