New Video Shows Draymond Green Dropping Teammate Jordan Poole With Vicious Sucker Punch

Yeah, that was just four months ago as the Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Championship.

Fast forward a bit and the two are not exactly on great terms. Green is currently facing punishment from the Warriors for getting into a fight with Poole at a Golden State practice.

Shams Charania of The Athletic had more on the reported altercation.

There was a physical altercation at the Warriors’ practice Wednesday morning that has the team seriously considering disciplinary action toward Draymond Green, sources with knowledge of the incident told The Athletic.

When a heated interaction with guard Jordan Poole escalated, Green forcefully struck Poole and needed to be separated swiftly, sources said. Green and Poole came chest-to-chest, with both players pushing and shoving each other prior to Green’s escalation of the physical altercation, those sources said.

The Warriors stopped practice and tried to settle nerves in the team’s locker room area, but it appears that internal discipline is imminent.

TMZ has since obtained and released video of the footage, and it’s worse than anyone could have imagined.

The TMZ video appears to show Green trash-talking while Poole initially shakes it off. Whatever Poole says, Green appears to take exception. He gets in Poole’s face and the young guard responds by shoving him away.

That appeared to anger the four-time All-Star. Green then hauls off and throws a huge right hand that sends Poole tumbling to the floor.

Green is currently in the final year of his contract with Golden State. He’s reportedly seeking a max contract with the franchise that drafted him. But thus far, the Warriors have been resistant to offer him one.

It’s hard to imagine this latest incident will help his cause.
