The Philadelphia Eagles have made a swift decision to cut free-agent signing and former Cleveland Browns 2nd round pick cornerback, Greedy Williams.

Despite the team’s initial investment of a 1-year, $1.35 million contract, which included a guaranteed sum of $600,000, Williams has been released.

Williams had been anticipated to contribute to the Eagles’ defensive lineup but the Eagles drafted CB Kelee Ringo in the 4th round of the Draft instead.

Williams had previously showcased his skills in 39 games while with the Browns, amassing 12 passes defended and successfully intercepting the ball twice.

In addition to the surprising release, the Eagles also announced the waived/inured  three players. Wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland, defensive tackle Noah Elliss, and cornerback Zech McPhearson, after they were carted off during the week 2 pre-season game against the Browns.

The team also signed DT Robert Cooper, DT Marvin Wilson, DT Caleb Sanders, LB Tyreek Maddox-Williams, and LB Quinton Bell.
