The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for the Super Bowl right now. However, it sounds like there are some bigger fish to fry.

Reports indicate that backup guard, Josh Sills, is being charged with some incredibly serious crimes.

According to Fox News, the Eagles guard “was indicted on one count of rape and one count of kidnapping in Ohio on Wednesday, the state’s attorney general announced.” This is a serious situation that will likely be closely monitored.

The alleged incident took place back in December 2019, per Fox News. “Sills allegedly ‘engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will.’ The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation after the alleged crime was immediately reported.”

The Eagles have yet to make an announcement regarding the situation. However, many believe the team will likely cut Josh Sills from the roster before the day is over.

Sills is an undrafted free agent in his rookie year. He’s only played four snaps on the season and is an immediate backup right guard for the Eagles. Many believed Josh Sills had a bright future in the NFL, as he proved to be a consistent offensive lineman during his time in college.

Now, it seems, that his career may come to a halting screech after these alleged crimes came to fruition. Keep an eye out on the Eagles’ social media accounts. The franchise is likely to address the situation soon.

Considering they are preparing for the Super Bowl, Philadelphia will likely opt to distance themselves from Josh Sills as much as possible.
