Eli Drinkwitz is one of the most excitable coaches in the SEC. The 30-year-old took over the Missouri program in 2020 and has gone 11-12 in his first two years.

Although the results on the field have not yet come to fruition, the belief is that Drinkwitz is building something with time in Columbia. In the meantime, he is doing everything he can to get big-time recruits to play for the Tigers and even arrived at a prospect’s school in a dump truck.

Drinkwitz is very well-intentioned, but sometimes his inner dork shines through. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it can make for some awkward moments like a video from Tuesday that has since gone viral.

During Mizzou basketball’s one-point loss to top-ranked Auburn, Drinkwitz was sitting courtside. When Javon Pickett hit a triple, he went absolutely crazy.

With his left arm raised to the sky, he made a very expressive face and tapped his head with three fingers to celebrate. While it was an undeniably funny moment, it was also very goofy.

In response to the viral moment, Lane Kiffin responded to Drinkwitz on Twitter with a facepalm emoji. He couldn’t help but bury his head in his hand after seeing his fellow SEC coach’s celebration.

Kiffin has never been one to hold back on how he feels. However, his reaction to Drinkwitz’s three-point celly was significantly more tame than his reaction to Brian Kelly’s awkward recruiting dance.
