Malika Andrews is one of the fastest rising stars at ESPN.

The network recently tabbed the 28-year-old to replace Mike Greenberg on NBA Countdown as part of an ongoing push to get her more air time.

Unfortunately, sometimes that fame can come with downsides.

According to TMZ, Andrews was forced to file a restraining order against a 41-year-old New Jersey man she claims has harassed  her and some of her ESPN colleagues for the better part of a year.

Ahmed Abubakar allegedly  began messaging her on Twitter in September of 2022 and his behavior quickly became threatening.

Andrews claims that Abubakar then somehow tracked down her phone number, which was not listed publicly. He also reportedly harassed fellow ESPN talents Stephen A. Smith and First Take co-host Molly Qerim.

TMZ reports that as part of her temporary restraining order request, Andrews stated that Abubakar recently traveled to ESPN’s Los Angeles facility looking to make contact with her, Smith and Qerim.

Andrews asked a judge to order Abubakar to stay at least 100 yards away from her and others. Smith, Qerim and Andrews’ fiancee, ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin.

Neither ESPN nor Andrews has commented publicly on the request.
