Free agent running back Ezekiel Elliott has settled a lawsuit filed against him by a woman in his Frisco, Texas, neighborhood.

According to a court official who spoke to Isabella Volmert of the Dallas Morning News, the civil suit brought by Jennifer Gampper against Elliott has been resolved.

The lawsuit, which was originally filed in July 2021, sought damages exceeding $1 million, alleging that one of Elliott’s dogs attacked Gampper, leaving her with severe and permanent injuries.

Christopher Hamilton, Gampper’s attorney, confirmed the settlement but declined to disclose the specific terms of the agreement. As a result, it remains unclear how the dispute was ultimately resolved and whether any compensation was provided to Gampper.

The incident in question occurred on May 20, 2021, when Frisco officials were notified about three loose dogs in the area. Before the city’s animal services could secure the dogs, a Rottweiler belonging to Elliott bit two individuals, causing non-life-threatening injuries that required hospitalization.

Elliott received three animal-at-large citations, and the Rottweiler was placed under a mandatory 10-day quarantine for observation.

Gampper’s lawsuit contended that Elliott was fully aware of his dog’s tendency to bite and attack people but failed to take appropriate measures to ensure the animal was properly confined. The lawsuit aimed to hold Elliott accountable for the injuries suffered by Gampper and sought significant compensation as a result.

Although Elliott has settled this particular lawsuit, it is worth noting that he still faces another legal challenge.

As reported by the Dallas Morning News, in June 2021, an employee at a Prosper canine day care facility filed a lawsuit against Elliott. The details and nature of this pending lawsuit were not provided in the report.
