Colin Simmons revealed that he will be committing to play college football for the Texas Longhorns.

Simmons is a 5-star edge rusher in the Class of 2024 and is currently the top recruit in the class for Texas.

The Texas Longhorns’ football program has landed some high-profile players over the last couple of years.

They have one of college football’s most impressive quarterback rooms with Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning.

Manning is just one of the 4 prospects in this year’s class that is ranked in the top 40.

Now they’ve landed a high-profile recruit that will join them in 2024.

5-star edge rusher Colin Simmons revealed to On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he would be committing to play for the Texas Longhorns in 2024.

Simmons is a strong addition on defense for a Longhorns team that has had a whole lot of recruiting success on the offensive side of the ball.

As the 27th ranked recruit in the country, Simmons becomes the top recruit in the Texas Longhorns’ class for the year.

Simmons joins a Texas recruiting class that was lagging behind a lot of the SEC competition they’ll be taking on by the time he joins the program.

With him in the class, the Longhorns have college football’s 17th ranked recruiting class for 2024.However, 8 of the 16 teams ahead of them will be competing in the SEC next year and 2 more are 4 or less spots behind them even after adding Simmons.

This is a good start for the Longhorns for what will be their first recruiting class as members of the SEC, but they’ll have to hope this is just the first of many big signings if they’re going to compete with the top dogs in their new conference.
