Former Yankees World Series Champ Claims To Have Just $39 And Noodles To His Name Now That He’s Locked Up

Some New York Yankees fans probably remember former outfielder Chad Curtis from his walk-off homer to end Game 3 of the 1999 World Series against the Atlanta Braves. Easily Curtis’ most epic moment in pro baseball, he has fallen on some seriously hard times since.

Curtis, who won two World Series rings with the Yanks during his playing career, is currently serving 15 years for sexually assaulting three female students at a Michigan high school where he was a coach back in 2011, with the girls now following up with a civil case against the 46-year-old.

Claiming to have just $39 in his personal bank account and nothing more than nine noodles from his prison cell, the former ballplayer isn’t sure he can even afford a lawyer to fight the case, telling MLive:

“I have $39 in my personal account, the state of Michigan has taken everything I own. I realize I was wrong. I apologize. … I don’t want to make mistakes. I apologize for that mistake,” he told the judge.

The former ballplayer claims that the girls are lying and that he believes the truth will come out to prove that, adding, per MLive:

“I know the truth is on my side. I do not believe there will be a large verdict.”

However this ends, Curtis has gone a long way from October hero to being locked up behind bars with nothing to his name.
