Former UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou is now a legit heavyweight boxer after nearly beating Tyson Fury.
On Saturday night, Ngannou shocked the boxing world when he nearly beat WBC champion Fury in his boxing debut.
After the fight, Ngannou stated he felt that he had won the fight and wanted to run it back.
“If he’s being honest, he would say that I won that fight, I won that fight, there’s not a question about it, but even before getting here, I knew that if the fact would get to a decision, I’m not winning, not because I didn’t do good, but because I’m the new guy in the house.”
Ngannou’s trainer Dewey Cooper, said he spoke with WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán, and he promised to give Ngannou a top 10 ranking.
“Mauricio Sulaimán says he’s going to rank him in the top 10 because he’s better than most heavyweights in the top 10.”

While Ngannou will now be a top 10 boxer, he still plans to fight both in MMA and boxing in the future.

“I can do both, nothing’s stopping me from doing both. If I have the skills for both of them, why not? I never intended to step over, do one fight, and go. That was never the plan.”
