A couple of weekends ago, former Iowa State student Carson King decided to test his luck by rolling up to College GameDay with a sign asking strangers to hit up his Venmo in order to help replenish his supply of Busch Light (which is the drink of choice in the state).

It’s safe to say his efforts paid off, as it didn’t take long for total strangers around the country to donate to the incredibly admirable cause.

Based on how much money he raked in, King could have lived like a, well, king while sitting on a throne made of cases of Busch Light, but instead, he decided to pull the ultimate bro move when he announced he’d be donating almost all of the money he received to the University of Iowa’s children’s hospital.

What a guy.

Shortly after that announcement, Busch announced it would be matching King’s donation (Venmo would go on to do the same), and in addition to giving him a year’s worth of beer, the company also decided to throw his face on a can.

King has been providing constant updates concerning the almost overwhelming flood of donations he’s been on the receiving end of, and on Sunday, he revealed that the fundraiser had officially surpassed the $1 million mark—a number that only continues to grow.

If you haven’t got in on the action yet, King said he’s keeping his Venmo open until the end of the month so you still have plenty of time to donate to the more-than-worthy cause.
