Free-agent linebacker Anthony Barr is scheduled to visit the New York Giants, as confirmed by Josina Anderson of CBS Sports.

Barr, a former 9th overall pick in the 2014 Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, is currently navigating the landscape of potential suitors after spending last season with the Dallas Cowboys following his tenure with the Vikings.

Contrary to earlier reports that hinted at an imminent agreement, Barr left New Orleans without inking a deal with the Saints on Tuesday.

It has been disclosed by Anderson that Barr successfully completed a physical examination with the Saints, hinting at his overall readiness for the upcoming season.

The Giants, bolstered their defensive lineup by securing former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Bobby Okereke with a lucrative 4-year, $40 million contract this offseason.

Okereke is poised to occupy one of the off-ball linebacker positions, leaving the door open for Barr to vie for the remaining spot.

The Giants’ roster includes potential contenders such as Darrian Beavers, Carter Coughlin, and Micah McFadden, with Barr’s seasoned experience being considered an attractive asset to complement the existing pool of talent.
