Recently, Gilbert Burns challenged Jorge Masvidal for the BMF belt he earned against Nate Diaz.

However, “Gamebred” wanted no part of it and instead, the fight will be a regular three-round bout.

Now, Burns responds to being turned down with an incredibly daunting message.

According to Damon Martin, Gilbert Burns isn’t happy about being turned down. He claims he’s going to make Jorge Masvidal “suffer” in their upcoming fight.

We’ll see how the fight plays out, but Burns is already a rather heavy favorite for this bout. Especially considering Masvidal is currently on a losing streak.

Even so, it’s not like the BMF title was ever going to be made available for Gilbert Burns. It was a fun stunt for Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.

Besides, do we really want five rounds for these guys? Three should be plenty as they’re likely to provide an exhilarating fight regardless.

At the end of the day, this is a big brawl for both fighters. Gilbert Burns has a chance to set himself apart from other contenders with a win.

Meanwhile, as Daniel Cormier suggests, this could be a pivotal moment in Jorge Masvidal’s career. Additionally, Leon Edwards claims he’ll fight Masvidal next if he defeats Burns.

Look for the trash talk to continue until they meet in the cage at UFC 287.
