The Green Bay Packers are an abject disaster and just fell to 0-3 on the season after an embarrassing home loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night.

During the game, Packers fans could be heard raining down boos on the team, which was expected to not only compete for an NFC North championship but perhaps even a Super Bowl.

After the game, Green Bay tight end Tucker Kraft, who just signed a lucrative new contract, blamed the fans in part for the team’s struggles on the field.

Tucker Kraft Chucked Green Bay Packers Fans Under The Bus

“That’s pretty tough. Like everyone pictures Lambeau Field and not boos. I don’t picture boos. I picture my home stadium. That’s tough,” Kraft said. “It’s pretty disappointing, especially for a home opener. It’s pretty disappointing. It’s not going to help us win.

“Like I don’t know what people think that’s going to rally us or something like that. But that’s — we’re grown men. We’re mentally strong enough, capable enough to get back on the field and play ball. But it’d probably much easier with the 70,000 people behind us rather than opposing us.”

This is the part where we point out that Packers fans are perhaps the most loyal in the entire league, with a sellout streak dating back to 1960. So if they want to do bo after spending their hard-earned money to watch their team lay an egg, they’ve earned that right.

Thankfully, wide receiver Christian Watson said the record straight.

“At the end of the day, it’s an entertainment business, so we have to put a better product out on the field if we want to have the fans have our back,” Watson said. “Obviously, we like to think that the fans will be there through the ups and downs, but we’ve got to put out a better performance than that.”

Fans boo because they want the home team to perform better. It is, in a sense, an act of support. So Kraft and his big new contract calling them out isn’t a very good look.
