Greg Olsen’s son T.J. found out that he would be getting a new heart one week ago today. The son of the 13-year NFL tight end and his wife Kara was born with a congenital heart defect. Through the first eight years of his life, T.J. had three open-heart surgeries and lived with a pacemaker. He is a resilient young man with an unbreakable spirit.

On Friday, Olsen shared the incredible news that T.J. was headed into surgery. On Monday, he shared a video of his son recovering in the hospital. He thanked well-wishers for their support and it was a special moment that will bring a smile to your face.

Earlier this morning, Olsen shared another incredible moment between T.J. and his family. The Olsens have gone through an emotional rollercoaster over the past eight years and handed it with nothing but grace. They have been extremely transparent and open with what they have shared, knowing that it can inspire hope for others like T.J., as well as providing him with an outpouring of support.

In a #TBT on Thursday, Olsen shared a video of the moment when T.J. shared the news of his donor match with his siblings. His older brother Tate and twin sister Talbot are simply overjoyed.

There is a lot of hyperbole thrown around on the internet, and I am often a large contributor to that notion. However, in this instance, it is truly the best moment you will see today… if not this year.

Everybody is rooting for T.J. and the positive updates are a welcomed sight in a long, ongoing fight.
