24-year-old Welsh heptathlete Lauren Davey is a very unique competitor.

Not only is she trying to qualify for the Olympic Games, she is also pursuing a medical degree at Swansea University.

Davey has said that it has been a goal of hers to participate in the Olympics since she was five-years-old.

“It’s not entirely impossible so why don’t I give it my all?” she told Further in 2022. “If I give it my all and don’t make it, I’ll have no regrets. Whereas if I tell myself now, ‘I’m not ever going to make it, there’s no point in trying,’ how will I ever know what I can do?”

Lauren Davey has won dozens of junior national titles and medals and hopes the 2026 Commonwealth Games will be the launching pad for her Olympic bid.

In the meantime, Davey is training and sharing her busy life on social media.

Recently, she shared on Instagram, “Another week in my little life. You’re capable of doing anything. Don’t let people tell you you otherwise.”

On Monday, Davey posted some photos with her javelin and the caption, “Hunting down my Tarzan.”

“Something tells me you’ll find him!?” one fan wrote in the comments.

If he sees the beach photos Lauren Davey shared a couple of days ago, that fan is probably correct.

“BODY GOALS,” one fan commented.

“FIRE,” wrote fellow Welsh heptathlete Grace Morgan.

“Wowwwww,” another Welsh heptathlete, Lauren Evans, commented.

As for her pursuit of a medical degree coinciding with trying to qualify for the Summer Olympics, Lauren Davey said, “Mentally, it’s the toughest because they’re both so demanding. I feel like I’m not as good of a medical student as I want to be, and I’m not as good of an athlete as I’d like to be. I can’t pick between both as they’re both careers for me.”

“I’ve always wanted to be a doctor and I want to be the best athlete,” she added. “I know it isn’t an easy road but I know I can do it.”
