An Absolute MOON SHOT Home Run By Georgia Softballs Lacey Fincher

ESPN

  • Georgia Bulldogs infielder Lacey Fincher showed off her insane power at the dish over the weekend.
  • She blasted three home runs in two games, including an absolute bomb, in the series against Tennessee.

If you have ever watched a college softball game at the Division 1 level then you know how electric it can be. If you have not ever watched a college softball game at the Division 1 level let number 44 on the Georgia Bulldogs’ squad Lacey Fincher show you how just awesome it can be.

But first, an introduction.

Fincher, a 5-11 infielder, mostly at first base, led the Bulldogs last year with a .345 batting average and tied for the team lead with 15 home runs. She had a .734 slugging percentage and a .511 on base percentage, and had three two-home run games. In the NCAA Tournament last year, she batted .429 with a pair of home runs and six RBI.

This year she is batting .389 with 13 bombs in 39 games.

So yeah, she’s good.

How good?

Check out this absolute moon shot she delivered for 11th ranked Georgia against 16th ranked Tennessee in the bottom of the first inning on Sunday.

Pimpin’ it like a pro… and who can blame her, look at where that ball landed!

Lacey Fincher’s three homers in two games helped Georgia win the series vs. Tennessee

That was the second of her three home runs in two days against the Volunteers over the weekend. After that last one, both softball and baseball fans were left gobsmacked by her impressive power display, beginning with Orioles broadcaster Kevin Brown.

As I was writing this, in what amounts to very little of a surprise after batting .571 with four hits, four runs scored, nine RBI and four walks in the series against Tennessee, Lacey Fincher was named the SEC Softball Player of the Week.

How about we take a look at that monster blast one more time?

Me thinks there needs to be a professional softball league of some sort for women with swings like Lacey Fincher.
