Professional golf caddies can make some serious cash if paired with the right partner. Adam Hayes has experienced that firsthand.
Jon Rahm’s longtime sidekick is doing quite well financially. Look no further than his $14 million house, which he just listed for sale in North Carolina.
Hayes has been paired with Rahm since 2015. He’s been at his side on both the PGA Tour, and through his transition into LIV Golf.
The caddie was present for the golfer’s Masters win in 2023, as well as his US Open victory in 2021. He’s enjoyed the perks that come with working with a top talent.
How much does Jon Rahm’s caddie make?
Rahm cashed in more than $53 million while on the PGA Tour. His income has increased significantly following a move to LIV Golf.
Since the league’s inception, Rahm has made $87.7 million in tournament payouts, more than any other golfer. Adam Hayes has gotten his fair share of those winnings.
Caddies can make up to 10% of earnings. It may vary by golfer, tournament finish, and experience, but that range is largely standard in pro golf.
“Typical caddie payout amounts to 10% of the purse after a win, 7% for a Top 10 finish, and 5% for everything else. That comes on top of their annual salaries as they pay their own ways for travel and lodging throughout the golf season.”

For Ted Scott, the longtime caddie for Scottie Scheffler, that’s been financially beneficial. He made close to $2 million in 2024 alone.
If Hayes’s payout structure is similar, that would mean somewhere between $5-8 million has gone in the caddie’s pocket to clear a million a year.
Adam Hayes is selling his house.
The list price is just under $14 million, which would set a record for the area. The home is located outside of Charlotte, North Carolina according to the Wall Street Journal.
The 100-acre estate, which has a $75,000 Full Swing golf-and-sports simulator, is listing for $13.995 million. If it sells at that price, it will beat the area’s $12 million record, which was set in 2025, said listing agent Ben Bowen of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.
The roughly 5,435-square-foot modern farmhouse-style property is just outside Denver, N.C., roughly 20 miles northwest of Charlotte.

The house has a batting cage, golf simulator, pool, and gym. It sits near Lake Norman on a piece of property purchased for $1 million in 2019.
Hayes was able to build the home thanks to his impressive earnings as Jon Rahm’s caddie. He now intends to sell. It will be interesting to see his next move if he gets his asking price.
