LIV Golf started in 2022 as a competitor to the PGA Tour. It was successful in nabbing top talent from its rival league in order to become a major threat.
Included in those prominent pulls were Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Cam Smith, and Phil Mickelson. The ability to secure those superstars provided positive momentum in LIV’s push to level the playing field.
Money was the main motivator in the decision making of those PGA Tour defectors, though tournament setup and scheduling were believed to have played a role, too.
Those opposed to the league’s success frowned upon where that money came from. The league is funded by the Saudi Arabia’s PIF.
That backing allowed LIV Golf to offer lucrative signing bonuses and player contracts. It became an attractive landing spot. Many cashed in.
Which LIV Golfer has made the most money?
There have been rumors of a potential league shutdown. Politics have reportedly created roadblocks with financing.
If that turns out to be the case, these are the 10 golfers that have made the most money with LIV. (Note: these numbers, provided by Jamie Kennedy of Golf Digest, do not reflect signing bonuses).
10. Patrick Reed

Career earnings: $37.5 million
Reed began his stint in LIV Golf during the 2022 season. He left after his 2025 campaign wrapped up to rejoin the PGA Tour in a full-time capacity by 2027.
Across those four years with the league, he posted 12 Top 5 finishes including one win which came in Dallas in 2025. His $37.5 million earnings are just shy of the $40.6 million earned as a PGA Tour member.
9. Branden Grace

Career earnings: $39.3 million
Grace made his LIV Golf debut in 2022. The South African remains with the league in 2026 as a member of the Southern Guards.
Across five seasons, he’s posted nine individual Top 5 finishes to go along with one win. That lone victory came in his very first season as he hoisted the trophy in Portland.
Grace’s earnings with LIV more than triple his career payouts with the PGA Tour.
8. Brooks Koepka

Career earnings: $44.7 million
Koepka was swayed to leave the PGA Tour by LIV Golf, making his debut in 2022. He has since turned back on that decision with intentions to return to the Tour.
Koepka played four seasons in LIV. During that time, he won five events while totaling nine Top 5 finishes. Koepka’s earnings across those four years nearly match his $44.9 million PGA Tour payouts.
7. Sergio Garcia

Smith is one of six golfers to make more than $50 million in LIV money. He joined for the 2022 season. He remains with the league as a member of the Ripper GC.
In that time, he’s won three events while posting nine Top 5 finishes. He’s made just under $51 million, a number that far exceeds the $29.5 million made on the PGA Tour.

DeChambeau was a big get for LIV Golf in 2022. He’s since made boatloads by leaving the PGA Tour.
The golfer has recorded 11 Top 10 finishes, as well as five outright victories. In the process, he’s banked a little under $60 million.
To put that number into perspective, he made $36.9 million on the PGA Tour after turning pro in 2016.
4. Dustin Johnson

Career earnings: $64.1 million
Johnson was a top name on the PGA Tour when making the decision to leave for LIV Golf. He’d won the Masters in 2020 while securing a PGA Championship runner-up the same season.
In 2022, he made the move away from the circuit. He’s since won three events while posting nine Top 5 finishes to earn a touch under $65 million. For reference, his career earnings on the PGA Tour sit at $75 million after turning pro in 2007.
3. Talor Gooch

Career earnings: $71.6 million
Niemann is the second-highest LIV Golf earner on this list. He’s made more money in the league than just one other player.
The golfer secured $71 million in payouts after winning six events and placing Top 5 on 17 different occasions. That total greatly exceeds his career PGA Tour earnings of $15.8 million.
1. Jon Rahm

Career earnings: $87.7 million
Rahm is LIV Golf’s highest earner since 2022. In just five seasons, he made more than every golfer not named Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, or Phil Mickelson has in their entire PGA Tour career.
More impressively, he didn’t make his LIV debut until 2024. He has been the best player in the league every year since joining. That includes the 2026 season which is still underway.
In 2+ seasons, he’s racked up 20 Top 5 finishes and three individual victories. He has only finished outside the Top 10 once in 31 tournaments.
Rahm has made $87.7 million in less than three seasons. After turning pro in 2016, he made $53.6 million on the PGA Tour.
