Hue Jackson and his wife created the Hue Jackson Foundation in 2017 to help address, educate, and prevent human trafficking. The foundation collected a sizable sum of money a couple of years ago, but the details surrounding said money aren’t great.
According to ESPN’s Dan Murphy, the foundation collected $158,000 back in 2019, which is the most recent tax year available. Of that $158,000, only around $4,000 was actually given out in the form of grants.
The foundation paid out its sole paid employee a $115,000 salary and spent another $15,000 on travel.

The foundation chirped back at Murphy and only made things worse.
What you failed to report is where that money came from. Hue Jackson was the LARGEST donor and he PERSONALLY donated over 75% of the funds, I personally donated from my salary back into the organization as well. Our records are clean!

Hue Jackson Gets Blasted Following The Hiring Of Art Briles
Murphy decided to do his digging on the foundation after the charity released a statement regarding Grambling State’s hiring of Art Briles.
Jackson is the head coach of Grambling State and elected to hire Briles as his offensive coordinator. Briles was fired as Baylor’s head coach back in 2016 after sexual allegation cover-ups were alleged against him and other coaches on his staff.
“We believe that through the hiring of Coach Briles and the well-developed programs we have in place, this hire will be instrumental in teaching others the importance of knowing how to prevent victimization, proper reporting procedures, provide adequate resources to individuals who have been victimized, and develop strong law enforcement partnerships within the community,” Jackson’s statement read in part.
That $4,000 in grants is better than nothing, of course, but the optics of this whole situation are bad, very bad.
Jackson has been on the receiving end of some harsh criticism since hiring Briles. Add Murphy’s reporting about the money involved in the charity, and the former NFL head coach is getting roasted by practically everyone on social media.
Ahhh yes. The classic 83% administrative cost — the nonprofit standard! https://t.co/OvyxfYqG8A
