Ryder Cup legend and current LIV Golf tour member Sergio Garcia turned 43 years old on January 9th. El Niño holds the Ryder Cup record for the most individual match wins with 25 and has appeared in every Ryder Cup since 1999 other than 2010.
LIV Golf star Ian Poulter wanted the European Ryder Cup social media admin to put some R-E-S-P-E-C-T on Sergio Garcia‘s name. Ian Poulter was raging on Twitter that the European Ryder Cup Twitter account didn’t wish Sergio Garcia a happy 43rd birthday.
Responding to a tweet about Francisco Molinari, Ian Poulter sounded off:
What’s really an “incredible touch” is the Players that helped build the @RyderCupEurope Brand with other players as well. You just can’t bring yourself to say a simple Happy Birthday. @TheSergioGarcia B’day Yesterday. Unfortunately this says so much. 🤷🏼♂️

His tweet reads “What’s really an “incredible touch” is the Players that helped build the @RyderCupEurope Brand with other players as well. You just can’t bring yourself to say a simple Happy Birthday. @TheSergioGarcia B’day Yesterday. Unfortunately, this says so much.”
Imagine caring that a Twitter account didn’t wish your friend a happy birthday and caring so much you publicly complain online:
Really have no strong feelings either way about Liv or the PGA tour. You’re all free to play on whatever your you choose and I’ll be watching both. All this crying like babies about who gets a happy birthday wish from a Twitter account is a bit boring and quite pathetic, though.

Obviously, Ian Poulter’s comment didn’t go unnoticed by golf fans. Poulter received a lot of replies:
How on earth are you getting rattled about a birthday message given how much you sold out for. Enjoy the money then go retire on a beach in a few years, that's what the deal was.

Goes both ways Ian. The Ryder Cup made you as much as you made the Ryder Cup.
You’ve chosen money over legacy, made your bed, so to speak. This is the unfortunate consequence.

Ian Poulter then appeared to have a little fun with it
After his colleagues started tagging him in other tweets, Ian Poulter at least had some jokes of his own:
Just highlighting the orders that have been given from the Top down.. #pettypelley 🤣

Hahahaha don’t worry I will remind everyone when that 50 rolls around

At least he’s able to joke about it after what appeared to be a rage-filled tweet at the European Ryder Cup’s Twitter account.
