Isaac Wilson, the youngest brother of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, is currently on pace to be even better than the former No. 2 overall NFL Draft pick. He currently leads the nation in passing through the first six games of his senior year of high school.

Wilson a four-star Utah commit in the college football recruiting Class of 2024, took over the starting quarterback job at Corner Canyon High School as a junior. His 62% completion percentage was strong and he threw for 3,774 yards and 40 touchdowns on 238 completions while also running for 695 yards and five touchdowns on 134 carries.

Although Wilson’s numbers were strong, they were clouded (just a little bit) by 17 interceptions. Not ideal.

2023 is already on pace to be much better than 2022.

The Chargers are 5-1 by a combined score of 288-137. Their only loss was to historic west coast powerhouse Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas in a 62-42 shootout and they have not scored less than 42 points in any game all year.

Led by head coach Eric Kjar, Corner Canyon is known to light it up. Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, BYU’s Cole Hagen and Ohio State’s Devin Brown started at quarterback before Wilson, but even they didn’t do what their successor has done so far this season.

He went 22-of-28 for 370 yards and six touchdowns on Friday… IN THE FIRST HALF!

Wilson has completed 64% of his 192 pass attempts for 2,260 yards and 23 touchdowns with just four interceptions so far. That doesn’t include his 404 yards and six touchdowns on 56 rush attempts.

To make things even more impressive, Wilson underwent a minor knee cleanup at the beginning of September. He refused to miss a single game and was back on the field that following weekend despite his mother’s wishes.

No other high school quarterback has come close to Wilson’s stat line this season. Especially in passing yards, where he leads the nation. (Utah starts its season earlier than most other states.)

  1. Isaac Wilson — 2,260 yards
  2. Gage Baker — 2,119 yards
  3. Jackson Stevens — 2,020 yards
  4. Maison Starkweather — 1,954 yards
  5. Jack Johnson — 1,918 yards

Wilson is coming off of another big week and shows no signs of slowing down!

Corner Canyon, the 18th-ranked high school football team in the United States, will play on the road at 0-5 Riverton on Friday. It is yet another opportunity to ball out and there is a good chance that he is out of the game by halftime.
