Ja Morant has been selected for a drug test just days after his insane tomahawk jam against the Pacers. The Memphis star let fans in on the random screening via social media.
Morant posted a message to Twitter on Tuesday saying that this is the latest in a long line of tests given by the NBA this season. Fans have been quick to comment on the news online.
The guard keyed his followers in on what he claims to be his seventh NBA drug screening this season. He said the following to the public in a post on his Twitter account.
Been drug tested like 6 times this season. Walked in the arena and found out I got another one today.
The series of tests comes in Morant’s best NBA season to date. The Grizzly is averaging career highs in points, rebounds, and assists (28/6/8), and he’s been on an absolute tear of late.
In his 10 games since the Christmas holiday, Ja Morant has scored 30 points or more on six occasions. He’s also thrown down some highlight reel dunks, with the most recent coming in Saturday’s contest against the Pacers.

That ‘Dunk of the Year’ candidate leads many to believe the drug test was anything but random. Here was the immediate reaction from his fans on social media.
One fan jokingly wrote, “NBA said stop dunking all crazy.” Another agreed by saying, “That bounce out of this world.”
Former NFL player Michael Wyche told Ja not to worry about the tests, commenting, “Because, what you’re doing is unreal my brother. Keep shining.” If Morant wasn’t playing at such a high level, he suggests that the league wouldn’t be interested.
It’s not the first time we’ve heard about something like this happening. Georgia tight end Brock Bowers said he was drug tested at the Bulldogs’ 2021 national championship game. The pass catcher was capping off a surprising freshman season that elevated him into potential first round draft pick contention.
Fans believe this latest news is anything but coincidence, but if the drug tests keep coming for Ja Morant, it likely means the superstar is continuing to perform at a high level.
