With the NFL schedules being released on Thursday, the Commanders now know who they’ll square off against in week one. For quarterback Carson Wentz, it’s a familiar foe as he looks to begin his tenure with a new organization.

Washington will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in the opener of the 2022 NFL season, a team that Wentz played twice as a member of the AFC South last year.

In fact, it was the team he most recently squared off against in 2021, as the Jags sent Indianapolis packing with a season-ending loss. That defeat kept the Colts out of the playoffs, sending Indy home with a sour taste in their mouth.

To add insult to injury, the Jags were the NFL’s worst team last year, finishing with just three wins.

The inability to win key games led Colts management to trade Wentz to Washington, where he’ll try to build back his public image. His name was dragged through the mud a bit following his departure from Indianapolis.

While he’s now trying to begin a fresh start in DC, the Jacksonville Jaguars won’t let him forget what happened the last time the two sides faced off.

Jaguars Troll Carson Wentz During NFL Schedule Release

The Jacksonville social media team took a moment to troll the new Washington signal caller following the announcement that the two teams would square up on week one.

“Tell Carson we say hi :)”

A simple, yet stinging dig to show that they still remember the 26-11 win in week 18. Had Wentz won that season finale, he might not even be in Washington. The Colts had a roster to make a postseason run, they just couldn’t quite get there.

For Wentz, it will be a chance at revenge. He’ll use this tweet as ammunition.
