Despite being cut by the Chicago Bulls and his NBA career being at risk, Jaden Ivey has continued to lean into his religious outbursts. After being spotted preaching in Auburn over the weekend, Ivey again went live on Instagram on Monday night to talk about God, this time with his wife in the room.
After saying last week that his wife was no longer answering his text messages, Jaden Ivey has seemingly reestablished communication with his wife, as she was seen in his latest Instagram Live session. Ivey’s wife, however, seems to be at her wits end, as she could be heard begging Ivey to “please stop” during his latest stream.

Ivey, drafted by the Detroit Pistons out of Purdue University with the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, was traded from the Detroit Pistons to the Chicago Bulls in February 2026 before being waived on March 30 for “conduct detrimental to the team” following a series of controversial social media posts.
Those posts included anti-LGBTQ remarks on Instagram Live, criticism of the NBA’s Pride Month promotion, calling Catholicism a “false religion,” and taking shots at LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Anthony Edwards for not being true Christians.
“The world proclaims LGBTQ, right?” Ivey said during the original stream that put him in hot water. “They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does, too. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.’ They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness.”
Since his release, Ivey revealed during a podcast interview that he has contemplated suicide multiple times, and was filmed preaching on the streets of Auburn, Alabama on Good Friday. His NBA future remains uncertain at this time.
