Jake Paul is one step closer to fighting for a world championship. Paul has spoken numerous times about his intentions to fight for a title.
“Five years ago, I stepped into the ring for my pro debut after 1 amateur fight, and every fight since has been a step towards becoming world champion.’
Before the Jake Paul-Julio Cesar Chavez Jr fight, WWBA president Gilberto Mendoza promised Paul would be given a top 15 fighter in the WBA cruiserweight rankings.
Paul won his fight on Saturday night vs Chavez Jr, and Mendoza has kept his promise to rank him with other top cruiserweights.

Paul is now eligible to fight Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez for the unified cruiserweight championship title.
Boxing fans are not happy with the WBA’s decision.
This is why UFC is so much better. Boxing is a joke now. https://t.co/ABEKXC6Jiz

It’ll be interesting to see if Paul wants to challenge Ramirez for the title straight away or opts out for another smaller fight in the meantime.
