Jake Paul is making more boxing headlines this week after calling out future foe Tommy Fury on social media Wednesday. The two fighters are set to square up on August 6th, but Paul believes Fury is ducking the contest.

He directed a tweet at Fury early Wednesday afternoon, saying that boxers like him are the reason that the sport is heading in a downward spiral. Paul says he’s given his opponent everything he needs to accept the fight.

Tommy Fury, you pulled out last year.

Then you agree to fight me now but your dad is trying to pull you out again? We’ve given you everything you asked for:

$2M purse
VADA testing
Tampon’s

You have 24 hours 2 clear this up or I will never give u this opportunity again

Fury quickly responded to the attack, saying that he’s still planning on fighting in August.

That response apparently didn’t confirm anything for Paul, who then went on a long-winded rant to further berate Fury.

“Yet again, I wake up this morning to a text from my manager saying that Tommy Fury is pulling out of the fight. We agreed to all of the terms. Everything is ready to go. We’re 45 days away from the fight. We agreed to a $2M purse, extra flights, extra rooms. We’re scheduled to have a press conference next week in New York

“His whole entire team was like, ‘Everything’s good, we’re signing the contract.’ It kept on getting pushed til now. What’s the excuse? ‘Oh I can’t come because my dad can’t be there with me during the fight.’

“Tommy, you’re dad has been banned from the US for 15 years. You’ve known this the entire time, he’s a criminal… Neither Tyson [Fury] or your dad were with you at your debut. Now all of a sudden you need your team with you? That doesn’t making any f-n sense.

“You’re scared. You claim you’re a professional boxer, but you don’t want to make the fight with me… This is the biggest opportunity of your life and you’re fumbling the f-n bag.”

The two were originally supposed to match up last December but Fury pulled out due to a broken rib and respiratory infection. Now, it seems that the status of their August fight is in jeopardy, too, with the contract not yet being signed.

We’ll see if Paul’s message to Fury is enough to sway him to sign the paperwork.
