Jake Paul finally has a new boxing opponent. After sitting out for the first quarter of 2025, Paul is ready to announce who he will be fighting next.

According to Ring Magazine’s Mike Coppinger, Paul is set to fight 39-year-old former boxing champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

It’s interesting that Paul is fighting Chavez Jr., considering he shut down the fight during a press conference just a few months ago.

“I want someone tougher [than Chavez] and I want a real belt, not just something that gets put up for entertainment value,” Paul said Friday. “It’s great and all, but, honestly, he’s easy work and I want someone tougher to shut people up.”

Chavez Jr. has been open to the fight.

“It’s an option, we’re looking into it, let’s see, this week I have a meeting.” said Chavez Jr. ” I’d be interested in fighting a champion, but fighting Jake Paul, for the fame and the media, would put me in a position to fight against others. I’m not looking for it, it’s been presented. It’s not concrete, but let’s see what happens.”

Update: Paul has confirmed the fight will take place on June 28th and will be broadcast on DAZN PPV.
