Jalen Milroe regained the starting quarterback job at Alabama after getting benched for Week 3. However, there is a rumor going around about his status for this weekend that has caused significant movement on the betting front even though it likely isn’t true.

Milroe began the year as the starter and played well in a win over Middle Tennessee State. That was not the case in a loss to Texas a week later. Milroe threw two picks.

As a result of Milroe’s poor play, and the promise of playing time to each of his backups, Nick Saban turned to Tyler Buchner and then Ty Simpson against USF. Buchner was terrible. Simpson was largely uninspiring. Milroe showed great leadership and poise throughout the afternoon.

Saban took note and went back to Milroe, who played well enough to get wins against Ole Miss and Mississippi State. It is very clear that the 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback — who is absolutely jacked built like a boulder — is Alabama’s best opportunity to win.

Buchner is so bad. Simpson didn’t look much better.

Is Jalen Milroe 100%?

That makes a recent viral rumor concerning for the Crimson Tide. Milroe is said to have injured his hamstring and might not be at full health this weekend.

The root of the rumor is unclear. It does not appear to be true.

He is perfectly fine.

If either backup has to play on the road in College Station, Alabama could be in trouble. Neither quarterback looked good enough to beat an inspired and angry Texas A&M team in front of a rocking sold-out crowd at Kyle Field.

Heck, Texas A&M might even win the game if Milroe is of good health like reported.

With that in mind, and the hamstring rumor spreading like wildfire, the spread has moved pretty heavily toward the home team. It has seen a 1.5-point slide.

The Crimson Tide opened as 2.5-point favorites. The line is down to -1 in favor of the visitors.
