It’s the New Year and the Dallas Cowboys have yet to fire Jason Garrett but it seems like the news is coming eventually.
This week Garrett has met twice with Jones’ family but there has not been yet an announcement on his status.
Still no word here in Dallas. I’m told Jason Garrett still meeting with players in his office as part of their exit interviews. Other coaches reviewing game tape. I’m being told that meeting with the Jones family may take place later despite Garrett saying it was at noon on 1053

Jason Garrett will have yet another discussion with Jerry & Stephen Jones before his status is resolved, a source said. It’s unclear at this time when that discussion will take place. https://t.co/DCwD31YKih

Despite the lack of announcement Garrett has been reportedly saying his goodbyes to Cowboys staffers.
A source inside the Star tells me #Cowboys HC Jason Garrett has said goodbyes to several staff members while exchanging information to keep in touch. Late with Christmas cards or the end inevitable? Stay tuned.

The current expectation is that Garrett’s contract will not be renewed by the Cowboys when it expires on January 14th and the team will begin the process to find a new coach to replace him.
