Nobody overanalyzes song lyrics like Swifties do. The rabid fanbase obsesses over every single word Taylor Swift uses when she puts pen to paper which is how everybody paying attention knew what every song on ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘ was about within hours of the album being released.

As we wrote about on Friday, ‘Alchemy’ is a song Taylor Swift wrote about her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The lyrics are undeniable. But lost in that shuffle was a shirtless Jason Kelce shoutout that deserves more respect.

After the second or third round of the chorus, though there doesn’t appear to be a proper chorus in ‘Alchemy‘, Taylor Swift busted out these lyrics as a shoutout to Jason Kelce:

Shirts off, and your friends lift you up over their heads
Beer sticking to the floor
Cheers chanted, cause they said
There was no chance, trying to be
The greatest in the league
Where’s the trophy?
He just comes running over to me

The shirtless Jason Kelce moment that Taylor Swift is referring to is, of course, when he went into full ‘Big Yeti Mode’ during the Chiefs-Bills game in Buffalo:

Also lost in the shuffle because the entire ‘Alchemy’ spotlight was shone on Travis Kelce is this brutal dig which appears to be aimed at Kadarius Toney who didn’t play for the Chiefs after week 15:

For those that haven’t heard the Kelce tribute song on Taylor’s new album, here you go:
