Season 2, Episode 3 of Coach Prime dropped this week on Amazon, and it’s already caused a stir on social media. The show, which follows the Colorado Buffaloes throughout the 2023 season, aired its latest edition called “It’s Personal.”

The episode showed a rivalry matchup between CU and the Colorado State Rams which saw headlines for a number of different reasons.

For starters, Rams head coach Jay Norvell made some interesting comments in the pregame leadup to that contest, singling out his counterpart.

“When I talk to grownups, I take my hat and glasses off, that’s what my mother taught me,” Norvell said, referring to Deion Sanders’ tendency to don sunglasses while talking to the media.

Sanders and Co. used that as motivation, finding a way to make the rivalry matchup ‘personal.’ They also buoyed it into a lucrative NIL opportunity with sunglasses company Blenders.

When the game started, there was more controversy.

Colorado star Travis Hunter left the game with a lacerated kidney after being hit with what many believed to be a cheap shot. CSU safety Henry Blackburn drilled the wideout after the whistle on a ball that was well out of the vicinity of being catchable.

Fireworks would later light for the Buffaloes, who landed an exciting 43-35 victory in double overtime.

Despite the win, Coach Prime and his son Shedeur had one thing on the brain – Norvell’s pregame comments.

In that most recent episode, you get to see the postgame handshake, which was tenuous to say the least. At one point, Shedeur holds his dad back and says, “Don’t put your hands on him.”

Sanders heeded the advice, though he did have some choice words for the Colorado State head coach.

Jay Norvell’s wife calls Shedeur Sanders out for postgame antics

After seeing the clip, Jay Norvell’s wife, Kim, took to social media. Frustrated upon reliving the moment, she blasted the Colorado quarterback for his actions after the game.

In a now deleted post, she wrote, “Shedeur acted like a B when Jay turned his back after trying to talk to his dad and held up his watch.”

The watch flex, also known as “The Shedeur,” was seen a number of times throughout season as a way to troll opponents. Kim Norvell obviously took offense after seeing the flashy move replayed.

So, for those keeping score at home, the Norvells have now taken shots at Deion Sanders’ mom and son.

The storylines were endless in that epic rivalry matchup. Shedeur Sanders can now make next year’s meeting ‘personal’ when the Buffs travel to Fort Collins.
