Jayden Daniels has attracted plenty of attention in the lead-up to the NFL Draft, and he was forced to issue a response after making headlines for a fairly unexpected reason after a photo of his elbow went viral earlier this week.

There are obviously plenty of things that can change over the course of the next month or so, but as things currently stand, it seems like the Washington Commanders are gearing up to select former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick.

Daniels capped off his college career with the Tigers last season by winning the Heisman Trophy during a campaign where the dual-threat QB threw 40 touchdowns and racked up over 1,100 yards on the ground. He declined to work out at the combine, but it sounds like the Commanders are convinced he has what it takes to replace Sam Howell as the franchise gears up for a hard reboot.

It’s safe to assume Washington has done its due diligence, but plenty of people found themselves wondering if there’s something wrong with Daniels earlier this week courtesy of a resurfaced photo of his elbow, which did not look like an elbow is supposed to look like when it was snapped during his time at LSU.

It didn’t take long for experts to chime in on the matter, and Dr. Jesse Morse (a sports medicine specialist) said Daniels was likely suffering from bursitis, an ugly but largely harmless condition concerning fluid build-up stemming from inflammation in his throwing arm.

It took a couple of days, but Daniels decided to chime in on Friday to assure the world there’s nothing wrong with his elbow in a tweet where he asserted he’s “perfectly fine.”

The photo in question was snapped when LSU faced off against Alabama on November 4th in a contest where Daniels managed to throw for 219 yards and a couple of touchdowns, so it doesn’t seem like it’s a major issue.
